Welcome to Plantwoods & Company's! We are excited that you have decided to stop by!
Plantwoods & Company was built around Matt's love of woodworking and Molly's love of plants. However, there is much more to what they do! Let us tell you a little about how they got here.
Matt's love for woodworking started at an early age. He took shop class while attending middle school in the late 90's. During that class he learned a variety of carpentry skills and developed a love for custom woodwork that has stuck with him until now. Once he reached his high school years, he developed an interest in architectural design and engineering, which he studied for 4 years. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart Molly, who had a love for the outdoors.
Molly has a very close relationship with her grandmother who has an incredible green thumb. Her grandmother has the best-looking lawn and garden in the whole neighborhood! Much of what Molly knows about plants today was passed down through her grandmother. She now loves a well-manicured lawn and garden too!
After purchasing their first home together, Matt and Molly began to develop new skills in the world of carpentry and interior design. They remodeled their entire home together and, of course, in the end there was custom woodwork and plants all over the place!
They sold their Florida home in 2022 and moved closer to the mountains of North Carolina with their two daughters. They bought a home that would allow them to, again, develop and sharpen their carpentry and design skills. They now operate a woodshop out of a portion of their unfinished walkout basement.
Having this additional space allowed them to start a new business, Plantwoods & Company. While it's still in its early stages they believe that soon Plantwoods & Company will be able to offer a variety of custom woodwork for the home along with creative solutions that meet your plant display needs! As a family they enjoy volunteering their time to teach others about the Bible. Much of their work supports that cause. They also enjoy hikes, movies, cookouts, karaoke, basketball, and good coffee :-)
