Powering Statesville: Honoring Our Lineworkers

April is a special time to recognize the people who keep our community running strong. With North Carolina Lineworker Appreciation Day on April 13 and National Lineworker Appreciation Day on April 18, Statesville Public Power proudly celebrates the skilled professionals who power our everyday lives.

Lineworkers are the backbone of our electric system. They work in all conditions - through storms, heat, and long nights - to ensure homes stay lit, businesses stay open, and essential services continue without interruption. Their work is often behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every corner of our community.

Activity & Coloring Page

Be sure to check out the kids coloring and activity sheet provided by ElectriCities of NC! It’s a fun and educational way for young learners to explore a little bit of how electricity works and about the important role lineworkers play in powering our community.

Thank You Lineworkers

Statesville has a long and proud history of Public Power, built on a commitment to reliability, local service, and community connection. For generations, our lineworkers have carried that legacy forward - maintaining infrastructure, responding to outages, and continually working to improve the system that serves our residents. Read more about the history of Public Power here in Statesville here.

Being a public power community means our focus is always local. Our lineworkers don’t just work here - they live here, raise their families here, and take pride in serving their neighbors. Their dedication helps ensure that Statesville remains a place where people and businesses can thrive.

This April, we invite you to join us in saying “thank you” to the lineworkers of Statesville Public Power. Their hard work, skill, and commitment keep our community powered - today and for generations to come.
