Loving Vincent (2017) is a groundbreaking animated biographical drama that brings the iconic paintings of Vincent van Gogh to life. Composed of more than 65,000 hand-painted oil frames, each created in the style of van Gogh’s artwork, the film explores the mystery surrounding the painter’s tragic death and delves into his complex life and legacy.
Set a year after van Gogh’s passing, the story follows Armand Roulin, the son of a postman, on a journey to deliver the artist’s final letter. As Armand interviews those who knew van Gogh, he unravels the emotional layers of a man whose brilliance and suffering continue to inspire the world.
“This film is such a beautiful example of what happens when two art forms come together,” said Sydney Koppelmeyer, Executive Director of the Iredell Arts Council. “Loving Vincent isn’t just a movie, it’s a moving canvas. At IAC, we’re proud to celebrate bold, creative experiences like this one, and we’re so grateful to the Full Bloom Film Festival for bringing it to our space.”
All are welcome to attend.
