A New Space with a Familiar Face

Julie Carpenter is a staple of our local economy, having owned and operated Beads-N-Things and worked at several other downtown business locations for the past two decades. Her exciting new location brings a fresh, inspiring new name: Wildflowers Creative Wellness Studio.

Inspired by the late Tom Petty’s iconic song "Wildflowers," the studio is designed to be a place where you truly belong and feel free to express yourself.

"I chose the name because of the song, which speaks strongly to my deeply held belief that everyone should feel free to express themselves through art and crafts without the pressure of a perfect product," Julie shares. "Adults forget how to play and how much joy can be found in simply making something. That opportunity is what I offer at Wildflowers."

Wildflowers is a walk-in makerspace welcoming all ages and skill levels. It provides a supportive environment to create, adapt, and learn as you go. The studio features:

• A unique retail gift boutique and craft supplies
• Walk-in crafting and open studio time
• Craft parties, specialized classes, and creative nights out
• Summer camps for kids

For Julie, keeping her business downtown is deeply personal. "Having my business in downtown Statesville is important to me because it is where I live, where my child goes to school, and where we as a family feel a part of the community."
